381000 citizens benefited from the digitization of vital events certificates

Khaberni - The General Director for the Department of Civil Status and Passports, Ghaith Al-Tayeb, announced that the digital certificate service launched by the department has seen noticeable uptake from citizens both within the kingdom and abroad. Since its launch last May via the "Sanad" application, about 381,000 digital certificates have been issued.

This was announced during his inspection of the work progress at the Ashrafieh and Hay Nazal civil status and passport offices as part of a field tour aimed at monitoring work progress and observing the reality of service delivery to citizens.

Al-Tayeb explained that this service has enabled citizens to issue previously registered vital events certificates, which include birth, marriage, divorce, death certificates, and individual and family records, in PDF format and in both Arabic and English languages.

He pointed out that the launch of this service is part of enhancing digital transformation and facilitating citizens' access to services both within the kingdom and abroad. He noted that digital certificates are available from anywhere, around the clock, including Fridays and public holidays, without being restricted to official working hours. This contributes to alleviating pressure on Jordanian embassies and reducing congestion within the department's offices.

Al-Tayeb added that the digital certificates do not require any additional fees and are accredited by all government and private entities, representing a significant step within the government's strategy to improve service quality and institutional performance.

He mentioned that the Ashrafieh and Hay Nazal offices completed approximately 150,000 documents last year, reflecting the amount of effort and efficiency of the staff in providing services to citizens.

He called for an analysis of the most important issues and observations reported in the mystery shopper report concerning the two offices, and to develop an action plan to address these observations within a specific timeframe, whether related to training staff, improving the work environment, or developing administrative procedures, reaffirming the department's commitment to service development and enhancing citizen satisfaction.

Al-Tayeb also listened to the opinions and observations of a number of citizens regarding the level of services provided, praising the efforts of the office staff and their diligent work to serve the citizens. He confirmed that teamwork and integration among employees are essential pillars in achieving the department's objectives and advancing the level of public service.
