General Administration and Service Commission Clarifies Regarding Competency Tests

Khaberni - The General Administration and Service Commission issued a clarification statement in response to what was published on the Khaberni website under the title: "A Message to the General Administration and Service Commission", concerning the mechanism of conducting competency assessment tests, especially regarding the challenges faced by applicants from the provinces distant from the capital.

The Commission affirmed its full respect for the right to opinion and other opinions, and its keenness on positive interaction with what is published in the media, clarifying the following in its statement:

First: The Commission recognizes the scale of challenges faced by applicants for government jobs from various provinces, especially the burdens of travel and costs associated with holding tests at specific locations, and has dealt with these observations seriously and responsibly.

Second: The Commission has been working for some time on expanding to find alternative sites to conduct competency assessment tests in partnership with formal institutions, and indeed, exams have already been held in a number of provinces in 2025 as part of a phased plan aimed at alleviating the hardship on applicants.

Third: The Commission is currently preparing a comprehensive plan to develop the mechanisms for conducting the tests, ensuring technical and logistical readiness, integrity of procedures, and data safety, which will enhance justice and equal opportunities, including conducting tests in a number of provinces in 2026 after confirming the readiness of alternative sites.

Fourth: The Commission confirmed that the competency tests are built on scientific bases and professional standards to objectively measure competencies, knowledge, and skills related to the job, and are subject to technical supervision that ensures the credibility of the results and their fairness.

Fifth: The Commission emphasized its commitment to the principle of equal opportunities and continuously works on developing the employment system in the public sector in a way that aligns with principles of justice and sound governance, enhancing citizens' trust in the procedures followed.

The Commission concluded its statement by appreciating the professional role of the Khaberni agency in conveying public opinion issues, confirming its ongoing openness to any constructive feedback that contributes to improving services and developing public policies.
