Jordanian wins case against a bank that embarrassed him in front of the community

Khaberni - A Jordanian court ruled that a local bank must pay financial compensation to a Jordanian citizen after it was proven that the bank violated the banking confidentiality provisions stipulated in the Banking Law, resulting in moral harm to the plaintiff.

According to the case files Khaberni, a citizen filed an official complaint against the bank and its employees, following an incident where a collections manager at the bank approached the citizen about his late payments on a loan in front of several other citizens, which the plaintiff considered a clear violation of banking confidentiality and an embarrassing and morally damaging action that led him to seek legal recourse. After examining the evidence and facts, the court ordered the defendant bank to pay compensation for the damage inflicted on the citizen.

The decision poses a significant embarrassment to the Jordan Banks Association, chaired by Maher Al-Mahrouq.
