Khaberni - A judicial source said on Wednesday that prosecutors in France are investigating Lucas Hernandez, a Paris Saint-Germain and French national team defender, and his wife after allegations of human trafficking and illegally employing a Colombian family.
The couple denied any wrongdoing, saying they acted in good faith and kindness but were manipulated.
Lola Dubois, the plaintiffs' lawyer, said that the investigation, opened by the Versailles public prosecutor, concerns allegations of illegally employing a family of five between September 2024 and November 2025.
Dubois said that the Colombians, who worked in childcare and security, did not get any days off and sometimes worked up to 82 hours a week.
Hernandez, a 2018 World Cup winner with the French national team, and his girlfriend Victoria Triaie denied these accusations. They said, "We opened our home and lives to people who presented themselves as friends, sought our kindness, and for whom we had genuine affection."
The Paris Saint-Germain star continued: "They shared our lives with respect and dignity. We helped and supported them when they told us they were in the process of regularizing their status. This trust was betrayed."
In the statement, they said they were manipulated by emotional stories and false assurances and never acted with disdain for the law.
They continued: "We acted as humans - and learned painfully that sympathy can be exploited."
