Barcelona Sets Two Conditions for Renewing Lewandowskis Contract

Khaberni - Barcelona has set two conditions to renew the contract with team striker Robert Lewandowski, amid the club's efforts to also strengthen the attack line with a new deal.

The Catalan club aims to sign a new striker next summer, and this depends on the financial situation. Julian Alvarez, the Atletico Madrid striker, tops the list of candidates, but this hinges on how willing his Madrid club is to negotiate. Barcelona is also in negotiations with Serbian Dusan Vlahovic, whose contract with Juventus will end by the end of this season.

For his part, Lewandowski has stated that he is in no rush to finalize a decision regarding his future, and it seems both the player and Barcelona management prefer to wait until the end of the season for a clearer picture, with the final decision resting in Lewandowski’s hands, according to the Catalan newspaper "Sport".

The newspaper continued that the Catalan club sees the continuation of Lewandowski, who will be turning 38 next August, as a beneficial option, but he must accept a lesser role in the starting lineup as a substitute option.

Barcelona requires that Lewandowski reduce his salary by 50% to renew his contract.

The "Sport" newspaper explained that the Spanish Football League association recently adjusted its regulations regarding the salaries of players over the age of 36, so that it does not exceed 3 million euros, after previously requiring a reduction of only 10%.

It is rumored that several clubs are interested in signing Lewandowski, such as Chicago Fire in the US, Fenerbahce in Turkey, a team from Saudi Arabia, and Atletico Madrid in Spain, while the family of the Polish star feels settled in the living environment in Barcelona.
