Khaberni - The Eastern Military Zone, at dawn today, Wednesday, within its area of responsibility, thwarted five attempts to smuggle a large quantity of drugs, carried out using balloons guided by advanced electronic devices launched simultaneously to distract the effort of the border guard units and evade monitoring.
Through meticulous monitoring and surveillance, the border guard units managed to detect all attempts at different locations, where two attempts were thwarted at the launch site in a special operation, while three other attempts were dealt with by shooting down the balloons and seizing their payloads within Jordanian territory.
The seized materials were transferred to the competent authorities, in coordination with the security forces and the Anti-Narcotics Department, to take the necessary legal actions.
