The CEO of the foundation, Valentina Qissisia, confirmed that these agreements embody the foundation's deep commitment to supporting quality scientific research, and its belief in the role of scientific research as a driving force for progress, and her firm conviction that science is the cornerstone and a national necessity for building societies capable of facing challenges and creating a sustainable future.
She added that the leadership thought corner in the foundation was established to be a nurturing space for bold research ideas, which not only diagnose reality but seek to offer scientifically applicable solutions with tangible impacts reflected on society, economy, and policy-making.
She indicated that the diversity of supported scientific fields stems from the foundation's holistic vision of scientific research, considering it an integrated system where its parts cannot be separated, and that true progress is not achieved without the interaction of applied sciences with social sciences, and without linking technical knowledge with social and economic dimensions.
She concluded by affirming that the foundation will continue to invest in Jordanian minds and support scientists and researchers, driven by its belief that knowledge is the most important asset, and that empowering scientific research is the most guaranteed path to building a strong knowledge-based economy, enhancing Jordan's position as a regional center for creativity, research, and innovation.
The Abdul Hameed Shoman Fund to Support Scientific Research was established in 1999 to support research proposals from Jordanian universities and research centers with up to 20,000 Jordanian Dinars for a period of two years, for applied projects that contribute to solving local and global challenges in various fields.
