Amman Arab University signs a cooperation memorandum with Bireen Municipality to enhance community development

Khaberni  - Stemming from Amman Arab University's commitment to expanding its partnerships with local community institutions and enhancing its role in sustainable development service, the university signed a memorandum of cooperation with Bireen Municipality, which was signed on behalf of the university by its president, Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Wadiyan, and on behalf of Bireen Municipality by the head of the municipality committee, Mr. Ahmad Al-Farahid, in the presence of: Dr. Samer Ayasrah, director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, Dr. Muti' Al-Shibli, director of the Employment Market Linkage Unit, Ms. Mai Jaradat, director of the Consultation and Training Center, Dr. Imad Al-Mualla and Dr. Wasef Al-Majali, members of the faculty in the Business School, Mr. Anas Kaso, assistant director of the Media and Public Relations Department, Mr. Youssef Al-Khaled from the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center in Amman Arab University, and from Bireen Municipality: Engineer Majd Al-Khalayleh, director of the Development Unit, Mr. Ali Al-Ghweiri, director of Human Resources, Mr. Reda Al-Khalayleh, the Administrative Manager, Engineer Saddam Al-Khalayleh, Environment Manager, Engineer Ahmed Al-Ghweiri, Director of the President's Office, and Mrs. Khuloud Al-Amoush, the Financial Manager.

The memorandum aims to enhance frameworks of joint cooperation in the fields of training and capacity building, and to offer discounts and scholarships for the residents of Bireen district and municipality employees. Additionally, it benefits from the academic, consultancy, and engineering expertise that Amman Arab University possesses in supporting the municipality's developmental projects and launching volunteer initiatives that involve the university students in serving the local community.

During the meeting, Dr. Al-Wadiyan emphasized that this memorandum is in line with the university's mission and its national role and vision aimed at making a real, effective, and sustainable impact in the community, through utilizing academic knowledge and scientific expertise in serving priority developmental issues. He pointed out Amman Arab University's pride in its partnerships with national institutions, its continuous efforts to link academic education with practical application, and empowering students to engage in real experiences that help hone their skills and enhance their readiness for the job market, positively reflecting on both the students and the local community. He noted that the university's faculties are keen on conducting applied scientific research and studies that address the needs of the local community and contribute to finding practical solutions for developmental challenges.

On his part, Mr. Al-Farahid expressed his happiness with this cooperation, affirming that the memorandum represents a qualitative step towards developing municipal services and improving institutional performance levels, opening new horizons for empowerment and development for the residents of Bireen district and municipality employees. He praised the academic and scientific status enjoyed by Amman Arab University at both local and regional levels, and its leading role in supporting developmental initiatives and serving the local community, which contributes to achieving comprehensive and sustainable development.

The signing of the memorandum included a field tour for the delegation of Amman Arab University, which included visits to several prominent landmarks and vital sites in the Bireen district, during which they observed the developmental reality and ways to enhance future cooperation in a manner that serves the local community members.
