Kurdish official Negotiations between Damascus and SDF completely collapsed

Khaberni - Abdul Karim Omar, a representative of the Kurdish Autonomous Administration in the Syrian capital, said on Tuesday that the negotiations with Damascus "completely collapsed", following a meeting held by President Ahmad al-Shar'a and the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, shortly after announcing an agreement that included a ceasefire.

Omar explained to Agence France-Presse that the negotiations conducted by the two men in Damascus on Monday, regarding the implementation mechanism of the agreement "completely collapsed", considering that the only demand of the authorities is "unconditional surrender" of the Kurdish forces.

Al-Shar'a announced on Sunday after meeting with US envoy Tom Barrack that they had reached an agreement with the Kurds that included a ceasefire between the parties, after about two weeks of escalation, and a comprehensive integration of the Autonomous Administration's institutions within the framework of the state.

Abdi later said that he agreed to the deal to stop a war that was "imposed" on us.
