Khaberni - An infant passed away on Tuesday morning due to severe cold in Gaza City.
Medical sources reported that the infant Shadha Abu Jarad, aged 7 months, died in Gaza City due to the harsh cold.
With the death of baby Abu Jarad, the death toll among children in the Gaza Strip due to severe cold has risen to nine since the beginning of winter, amid a shortage of aid and lack of heating.
The same sources pointed out that the incident reflects the severity of the humanitarian situation in the sector, especially for children and displaced people living in weak and unqualified tents to face the cold weather.
The residents of the Gaza Strip suffer from a lack of shelter and treatment, and the absence of heating means due to fuel shortage, amid a stormy, cold, and rainy low pressure.
