Nearly 3 Million Visits to Tourist Sites in Jordan Last Year

Khaberni - The total visits to the tourist sites during last year were 2,983,567 visits, with the majority being to the city of Petra, accounting for 20%, according to data from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

The data indicated that 54% of the visitors were foreigners and 41% were Jordanians, while 5% were Arabs.

The number of visits to Petra alone was 582,550 visits.

The visits were distributed to several tourist places including Ajloun Castle, Nebo, Wadi Rum, Jerash, the Archaeological Museum, Madaba Church, and other locations.

Looking back at 2024, the total visits to the tourist sites were 2,610,732 visits, while the number reached a record 6,008,026 in the year 2023 for the tourism sector.

The Ministry's data emphasized that the number of visits means repeated visits to other tourist sites by international visitors, as well as local visitors.

The tourism sector in Jordan recorded a positive performance during the year 2025, with the number of visitors rising to 7.04 million visitors, and tourism income grew by 7.6% in 2025 to reach 5,523 million Jordanian dinars.

The number of participants in the "Our Jordan is Heaven" program reached 161,000 participants, while the unified ticket saw a significant increase in demand, alongside the classification of 276 new tourist establishments and licensing of 48 tourist guides.
