Khaberni - The Syrian Ministry of Interior stated, Monday – Tuesday night, that 81 members of the terrorist organization "ISIS" who had escaped from al-Shaddadi prison in the Hasakah governorate countryside were arrested.
The Ministry clarified that units from the Syrian Army and special task units affiliated with the Syrian Ministry of Interior entered the city of al-Shaddadi, to pursue 120 elements of the terrorist organization "ISIS" who had escaped from a prison controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces "SDF", according to the Syrian news agency "SANA".
It added that the specialized units immediately began upon entering to implement precise and organized search and sweep operations within the city and its surroundings, aiming to pursue the fleeing elements and ensure the preservation of security and stability.
The Deputy Governor of Deir Ezzor, Badri al-Masloukh, confirmed on Monday that the "SDF" had released some members of the terrorist organization "ISIS" from al-Shaddadi prison, which is located in a border area between Hasakah and Deir Ezzor governorates.
Regarding the security situation in areas near the border with Hasakah, al-Masloukh indicated that the Syrian Ministry of Defense started deploying intensive patrols in those areas, where they work to pursue the individuals escaping from prison and intensify efforts to arrest them and secure the border areas to prevent any smuggling attempts or movement of the fleeing individuals to other areas.
