Khaberni - American authorities reported that a man from Florida shot and killed 3 tourists after they were stranded in a rented property in a town known to visitors to the "Walt Disney World" resort.
Osceola County Sheriff Christopher Blackmon stated that the suspect, Ahmed Jihad Bougeh (29 years old), was arrested on Saturday shortly after the three victims were found shot dead in the yard of a rental property in Kissimmee.
The police explained that they received reports of shooting around 12:14 pm, before an officer found the bodies and called for reinforcements. Two of the victims were identified as brothers from Michigan and Ohio, aged 70 and 68, while the third victim was their friend from Ohio, aged 68, whose identity has not yet been disclosed pending notification of his relatives.
According to investigations, the victims had been forced to extend their stay at the property due to a car breakdown. About an hour after the incident, the police found the suspect inside his nearby home and detained him on three first-degree murder charges.
The sheriff confirmed that there was no dispute between the murderer and the victims, indicating that the incident appears to be random so far. Two firearms were also found in the suspect's house, and it is being examined whether they were used in the crime.
According to court records obtained by the "ClickOrlando" network, Bougeh had previously been arrested in 2021 after shooting at a person and random vehicles in a gas station parking lot in Kissimmee, resulting in one man injured. He was later acquitted of the charges due to insanity.
Blackmon said: "I can tell you that he has been a threat to that neighborhood all along," while investigations are still ongoing, and a judge has ordered the suspect to be held without bail in Osceola County Jail.
Kissimmee is a bustling area filled with rental properties and golf courses, located just a half-hour drive from "Disney World".
