Khaberni - It was previously expected to launch the shooting game "Marathon" from Bungie studio, which had its release delayed, in March 2026 at a price of $39.99 without specifying an exact date, but now the Steam store shows that the game will be released on March 5, 2026.
This came after an ad on the Xbox store briefly revealed the same release date of March 5, 2026.
The ad was spotted by a user on the Reddit platform, who posted a recording of a teaser trailer for the game "Marathon" that ended with the phrase "Coming March 5, 2026. Pre-order now."
However, "Xbox" pulled the teaser trailer shortly thereafter, and the Reddit user's post is no longer available, which strongly suggests that the clip could be original, according to a report by "IGN" seen by "Arabia Business".
The game "Marathon" suffered from development issues and its release was delayed several times. At the end of last year, parent company Sony announced that Bungie had not met its sales and user engagement targets, resulting in losses of $200 million.
In May last year, the studio found itself facing more accusations of creative theft after a Bungie artist was accused of stealing aspects of her artwork for the game "Marathon", a matter that has since been resolved.
In June last year, the release of the game was postponed to 2026 while "Bungie" worked to respond to player feedback during beta tests. Then, work on the game stopped until October, when the studio announced that the shooting game was ready for a limited beta test by invitation only for players in North America and Europe via PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and the Steam platform.
