Jordan Replacing 15000 Unsafe Heaters with Safe Ones for Deserving Families and Disbursing Financial Aids

Khaberni -  Within the framework of social protection, and as part of the Safe Winter campaign launched since the beginning of the winter season, the cabinet decided to task the Ministry of Social Development to replace 15,000 unsafe heaters with safe ones for deserving families and to allocate the necessary funds for this, through the social development centers in the governorates and Tkiyet Um Ali.

The decision continues the efforts of the Ministry of Social Development and the concerned ministries that are exerted every winter through various initiatives and programs aimed at supporting deserving families.

The council also discussed the progress of procedures for disbursing financial aids to those affected by weather conditions from deserving families, according to the criteria and principles set by the Ministries of Social Development / National Aid Fund, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, and the Ministry of Agriculture.

The council directed the completion of allocating financial amounts to the affected individuals and disbursing them subsequent to the departments concerned enumerating them after submitting the applications, where the disbursement of the amounts to them will be completed sequentially, including paying compensations for lands affected by landslides that occurred in Al-Marj area in Karak Governorate, from the emergency expenditure item in the current year's general budget.

The concerned ministries have compensated more than 120 families so far in the affected areas and will continue to do so for more deserving families in the coming days, until the completion of disbursing the allocated amounts to all deserving families.
Studies are also underway to compensate another group of families whose homes were damaged by the weather conditions and heavy rains, where the damage valuation is being determined in order to disburse compensations to the homeowners according to the principles and instructions.
