Dubais Green Charger Network Expands to 1860 Charging Points

Khaberni - Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, said that the "Green Charger" network has expanded to more than 1860 charging points across Dubai.

This includes charging stations licensed by the authority in cooperation with institutions from the public and private sectors.

He said: By mid-January 2026, the number of registrants in the "Green Charger" initiative reached 23,600 users. Since the launch of the initiative in 2014, the authority has provided more than 55,200 megawatt-hours of electricity, enabling electric vehicles to travel more than 276 million kilometers.

He added: We are working to realize the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, to cement Dubai's position as a global leader in the transition to the green economy and sustainable mobility, among the cities most prepared for the future. We continue our efforts to enhance the infrastructure for green mobility, in support of the Emirates’ strategy for climate neutrality by 2050, and Dubai's strategy for green mobility by 2030, aimed at encouraging the use of environmentally friendly transportation methods, consistent with the emirate’s sustainability goals, air quality, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

He pointed out that the expansion in charging points within the "Green Charger" initiative contributes to keeping up with the increasing number of electric vehicles and providing a smooth and fast experience for users, enhancing Dubai's position as a global destination for living, working, and visiting.

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority provides four types of "Green Charger" stations: super-fast charging stations, fast charging stations, public place chargers, and wall chargers. Users can easily locate the charging stations spread across various areas of Dubai through the authority's website and smart application, along with 14 other digital platforms.

The authority allows users to create a "Green Charger" account through its website www.dewa.gov.ae and its smart application, or via an interactive voice response system at the Customer Care Center, enabling them to use the charging stations within one hour of registering the vehicle. All users can also benefit from the service through the "visitor feature."
