Khaberni - In the context of exploring ways to enhance students' engagement in political and partisan life within the university environment, and to activate their role in the national process, in alignment with the vision of comprehensive political modernization led by His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, Amman Arab University participated in a meeting of the Youth and Sports Committee, held at the Jordanian House of Representatives, attended by Dr. Mohammad Bin Tareef, Dean of Student Affairs, representing Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widian, President of the University, and in the presence of several members of the Youth and Sports Committee in the House of Representatives, alongside Deans of Student Affairs from various Jordanian universities.
During the meeting, participants emphasized that young people constitute the fundamental pillar for the political and social future of Jordan, highlighting the pivotal role that universities play as incubators of political awareness and platforms for enhancing active participation in public life. They pointed out that empowering young people and involving them in political actions contributes to preparing a conscious generation capable of bearing responsibility and participating in national decision-making.
In his turn, Dr. Bin Tareef praised Amman Arab University's commitment to supporting youth and student issues, and its focus on enhancing the role of Student Affairs Deanships in establishing a culture of dialogue and conscious participation within the university campus, through adopting programs and activities that raise the level of political and national awareness among students, and help prepare them to be active and influential elements in society.
Furthermore, Representative Mohammad Al-Maharmeh, head of the Committee on Youth, Sports, and Culture in the House of Representatives, stressed the importance of ongoing coordination between legislative institutions and universities, to achieve integration between national policies and youth orientations, and to support the democratic process and political modernization in the Kingdom. This meeting represents an important step towards enhancing dialogue channels between the House of Representatives and the academic sector, and affirming the vital role of university students in establishing a culture of political participation and partisan work in the Jordanian society.
