Khaberni - Professor Mutong Qin from Shandong University indicates that having sex regularly once or twice a week is associated with more stable mental health and a decrease in depression rate.
According to VOI.id, the professor cites the results of an analytical study of the sexual activity data and psychological status of over 15,000 people. The results showed that participants who have sex once or twice a week recorded better mental health indicators. However, for those who have sex less frequently or irregularly, the relationship with mental health was less clear.
The professor notes that sexual activity generally improves life quality and increases the feeling of self-satisfaction, which reflects over time on mental health. However, the exact biological or psychological mechanisms behind this effect remain unclear.
He confirms that the results show a statistical correlation and not a direct causal relationship, therefore, determining how intimate relationships affect mental health will be the focus of further research and studies.
