Amman Arab University Organizes Tree Day Event in Collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Greater Amman Municipality

Khaberni - In the context of enhancing environmental awareness at Amman Arab University and establishing concepts of voluntary work and community responsibility under the patronage of Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widian, President of the University, the Dean of Student Affairs, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Greater Amman Municipality, organized a Tree Day event. The event was attended by Professor Dr. Hossam Al-Hamad, Vice President of the University for Planning and Quality Assurance representing the President, Dr. Mohammad Bin Tarif, Dean of Student Affairs, and a number of college deans, along with the staff of the Dean of Student Affairs, and participated by several university students.

In this regard, Dr. Al-Hamad asserted that organizing such environmental initiatives forms a fundamental pillar in spreading environmental awareness among students, and enhancing their awareness of the importance of preserving natural resources and increasing green spaces both within the university community and beyond. He pointed out that trees represent an essential element in achieving sustainable development goals and enhancing the quality of life, noting that this event aligns with Amman Arab University's strategy of integrating the environmental dimension into its various activities and programs, reflecting its commitment to its national and community role in supporting environmental issues, and encouraging students to actively participate in initiatives that contribute to building a more sustainable future.

Dr. Mohammad Bin Tarif explained that organizing the Tree Day event is part of the Student Affairs Dean's goal to involve students in purposeful activities that combine educational and volunteer aspects, and contribute to instilling concepts of environmental responsibility and teamwork among them. He emphasized the Dean's commitment to providing a supportive university environment for initiatives that enhance student awareness of their role in protecting the environment and preserving natural resources. Dr. Bin Tarif mentioned that the Greater Amman Municipality supported this event by supplying Amman Arab University with 200 cypress trees, which were planted within the university facilities, aligning with plans to improve the environmental landscape and expand the green areas within the campus. This step comes within the framework of enhancing environmental awareness among students and instilling concepts of sustainability and conservation of natural resources, in addition to affirming the role of national institutions and universities in supporting joint environmental efforts and achieving sustainable development.

This event is part of a series of extra-curricular activities carried out by Amman Arab University, confirming its role in serving the local community and enhancing partnerships with national institutions, especially in environmental fields, contributing to spreading environmental culture and establishing concepts of sustainable development within and outside the university community.
