Khaberni - Spanish media reports have exploded with a resounding bombshell related to the behind-the-scenes of Joan Laporta's return to the presidency of FC Barcelona for his second term.
El Confidencial newspaper stated: "The credit for Joan Laporta reaching the presidency of Barcelona today goes to Florentino Perez".
It added: "During the Barcelona elections, Florentino directly called Sabadell Bank, as Laporta needed to deposit 124.6 million euros in Barcelona’s accounts, and he did not have this amount".
It continued: "Sabadell Bank was very hesitant at first, given the financial crisis Barcelona was undergoing at the time and its inability to guarantee the payment, but Florentino Perez's intense insistence eventually persuaded the bank to agree."
It concluded: "Florentino did this considering Laporta an ally for the 'Super League' at that time, yet Barcelona withdrew from the project later."
