Khaberni - The Public Security Directorate warned against the incorrect use of heating devices, especially amidst falling temperatures in the coming days and the increased use of various types of these devices.
The Directorate called for following correct usage practices for heating devices, inspecting them before use, not sleeping while they are on, regularly ventilating the house, and avoiding bringing heaters into the bathroom, as well as being cautious with wood stoves to prevent suffocation accidents.
The Directorate also urged not to allow children to play near or around heaters, or to place heaters in inappropriate places or near flammable furniture to prevent fires.
It also emphasized the importance of heater maintenance, ensuring the hoses connecting the cylinder and the gas heater are intact, and checking for any cracks or bends that might lead to gas leaks, thus causing a fire in the house.
The Directorate appealed to the citizens to contact the unified emergency number (911) when needed.
