Khaberni - Youth Minister Raed Adwan said on Sunday that, on the sidelines of the meetings of the Jordanian-Qatari Higher Committee that took place today, an executive program was signed in the capital Amman within the framework of enhancing cooperation between the Jordanian Ministry of Youth and the Qatari Ministry of Sports and Youth.
Adwan explained in a statement to "Al-Mamlaka" that the Jordanian-Qatari memorandum in the fields of youth and sports included exchange of visits and youth delegations between the two countries, and organizing youth camps alternately, in addition to exchange of research and experiences about youth issues and their major challenges, through research institutions, and via joint workshops between the two sides.
He pointed out that Jordan has a long experience in the field of environmental and climate work, and the nature of sustainability in environmental efforts, where there was discussion of youth exchange to participate in sustainability projects and environmental awareness.
Adwan clarified that the agreement included a component related to the Hussein Award for Voluntary Work, and the national project led by the Ministry of Youth under the direction of His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, in the field of voluntary work and embedding its culture, where this aspect included a special clause on exchanging expertise in voluntary work through joint camps and specialized workshops.
He added that there is a part of the agreement with the Qatari side in the sports sector, to be implemented by the Jordanian Olympic Committee and the Jordan Football Association, aiming to enhance sports cooperation between the two countries.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani signed the minutes of the fifth session of the Jordanian-Qatari Joint Higher Committee at the conclusion of its meetings.
The outcomes of the meetings included the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the foreign ministries of the two countries regarding bilateral political consultations.
Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Imad Hajjazin and Chief of Qatar Tourism Saad bin Ali Al Khurji signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the fields of tourism and business events between the two governments.
The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ambassador Daifallah Fayez and the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Kingdom Ambassador Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al-Thani signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs between the ministries of Awqaf of the two countries and the second executive program for the cooperation protocol in the field of youth between the two governments for the years 2026–2028.
