Khaberni - In a tragic incident, the residents of the monastery village belonging to the Shebin El-Kom center in the Monufia governorate woke up this morning (Sunday) to a shocking horror after discovering the bodies of three children from a single family inside an abandoned house in the village, under mysterious circumstances that caused extreme terror and sadness among the residents.
According to what the villagers and initial security reports indicated, the three victims were: two siblings and their cousin. They disappeared suddenly while returning from a private lesson and did not return to their homes at the scheduled time, prompting the residents to search intensively for them.
Search and Investigation
After hours of searching, surveillance cameras in the area revealed the last movements of the children, which led to an abandoned brick house within the village boundaries, where they were found dead with signs of hanging (strangulation), according to the residents’ accounts.
Immediately, security forces moved to the scene, imposed a tight security cordon around the area, and transported the bodies by ambulance to the morgue of Shebin El-Kom Hospital at the disposal of the Public Prosecution, in preparation for forensic medical examination to precisely determine the causes of death.
Investigations into the Incident
The Public Prosecution was notified of the incident, where investigations began immediately, and it requested the rapid conduct of comprehensive security inquiries to uncover the incident's circumstances, determine the identity of the perpetrators, and find out whether the incident was a deliberate murder, a collective suicide, or another accident.
A state of profound grief and shock prevails among the villagers, who describe the victims as innocent young children, and they demand the rapid unveiling of the truth and the bringing of the perpetrators to justice.
Security forces continue their intensive efforts to examine all possibilities, including thoroughly reviewing surveillance camera recordings and listening to the testimony of residents and relatives.
