Khaberni - The Public Security Directorate has warned of the atmospheric depression affecting the kingdom today and tomorrow, which is indicated by weather bulletins issued by relevant authorities to be accompanied by rainfalls that may be heavy at times in the northern part of the kingdom, gradually extending to the central and eastern regions, and by the evening reaching the southwest regions, possibly accompanied by thunder and hail.
The Directorate emphasized the necessity of adhering to precautionary instructions and following safe behavior to reduce accidents in various forms, stressing the importance of staying away from the edges of valleys, flood channels, and low-lying areas, particularly in the north of the kingdom, and not to risk crossing water gatherings either on foot or by vehicles, due to the real danger they pose to lives and properties.
The Directorate has called on drivers to exercise caution while driving on roads experiencing rainfalls, due to slippages and reduced visibility, and emphasized the need to check and maintain rainwater drainage channels to prevent water levels from rising and flooding homes, in addition to the importance of providing water suction pumps especially in homes located below street level.
Regarding the use of heating devices, the Public Security Directorate stressed the need to adhere to safety measures, not to refuel heaters while they are lit, or leave them operating while sleeping, ensuring continuous proper ventilation in homes, and avoiding the use of wood stoves for heating to prevent asphyxiation or fires.
It confirmed the readiness of its personnel to deal with any emergencies, and urged citizens not to hesitate to call the unified emergency number 911 when needed.
