Following is the text of the statement issued by the Bani Fawaz clan:
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The Almighty said: ﴿O reassured soul, return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing to Him﴾
The Bani Fawaz clan, in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, mourns its son, Engineer Abdul Hafez Bani Fawaz, who passed away in the United Arab Emirates under mysterious and painful circumstances that still encompass many question marks.
As the clan expresses its deepest sorrow and condolences to the family of the deceased and his relatives, it also expresses its profound concern and regret for the ambiguity and delay in the procedures and reporting of the death incident.
Based on our national principles, the Bani Fawaz clan confirms its full and firm support behind the wise Hashemite leadership, represented by His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, and His Highness the Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, may God protect them, and its total confidence in the Jordanian state institutions and its constant concern for the dignity of the Jordanian citizen wherever they may be.
The clan also sincerely apologizes to the noble clans of Anjara in particular, and to the clans of Jabal Ajloun in general, for not calling for an emergency meeting due to the unclear circumstances of their son's death to date, and out of caution to not delve into incomplete or unconfirmed details, until the availability of official information that enables explaining the case with full transparency and accuracy to our people and community members.
Accordingly, the Bani Fawaz clan demands the following:
Urgent action to transfer the deceased's body to the homeland, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Conduct a legal medical examination and complete autopsy of the body inside Jordan, through the officially recognized and competent authorities.
Follow-up on the case by the competent Jordanian authorities, led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, and in coordination with the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the United Arab Emirates.
Conduct a transparent and comprehensive investigation based on the results of forensic medicine and official medical reports to determine the cause of death accurately, and to clarify whether there is any criminal suspicion or any negligence in the procedures.
Accountability for any party proven to be negligent or responsible, if found, in accordance with the law, and in protection of the rights of the deceased and the dignity of the Jordanian citizen.
The clan affirms that these demands arise only from its concern to reveal the entire truth, far from any exaggeration or pre-judgment, consistent with a state of law and institutions, and preserving the fraternal relations between Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.
May God have mercy on our dear deceased, and grant him Paradise, and inspire his family and loved ones with patience and solace.
To God we belong and to Him we shall return.
