Khaberni - Ibrahim Al-Sarayreh, the representative for the governorate of Karak, said that he inspected several areas in the governorate during and after the recent weather lows, confirming significant damages to the infrastructure that are difficult to repair and require substantial time and effort to address.
During his appearance on a program on Al Mamlaka TV on Saturday evening, Al-Sarayreh added that the situation in Karak Governorate is due to the negligence of successive governments, coupled with the lack of financial allocations directed to infrastructure in the municipalities, noting that the weak budgets directly reflect on the municipalities' ability to implement effective service projects.
He pointed out that the compensations distributed to those affected by the weather low in the Karak governorate were minimal compared to the severe infrastructure damages in the governorate, confirming that the House of Representatives played its supervisory role in monitoring the implications of the low and its effects on citizens.
Al-Sarayreh also mentioned that the MPs and the residents of the governorate had previously alerted the concerned authorities to the potential damages from the expected weather lows, but these warnings were not met with concrete actions on the ground, exacerbating the extent of the losses.
