Khaberni - US President Donald Trump said that the time has come to look for new leadership in Iran, calling for an end to the rule of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, which has lasted 37 years.
The American site Politico quoted Trump on Saturday saying, "The time has come to look for new leadership in Iran," amid declining widespread protests in the country.
Trump mentioned that thousands of protesters have been killed in various parts of Iran over the past three weeks, which prompted him to repeatedly hint at the possibility of military intervention.
Trump continued, "Khamenei must manage his country properly and stop killing people, and Khamenei is guilty and has caused complete destruction of his country," considering that "Iran is the worst place to live in the world because of poor leadership."
Last Tuesday, the American President called on Iranians to continue protests and "take control of institutions," affirming that "help is on the way."
However, Trump said the next day that he received information that the killing had stopped, adding, "The best decision I made was not to execute more than 800 people two days ago," in response to a question about the scale of a possible US military operation against Iran.
