Khaberni - The average hotel occupancy from different categories in the city of Aqaba during the weekend reached 72 percent.
The Director of Tourism in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Salam Al-Maliki, said that the occupancy rate of 5-star hotels reached 85 percent, 4-star hotels 62 percent, and 3-star hotels 69 percent.
Al-Maliki confirmed that Aqaba continues to enhance its position as a major destination for domestic and regional tourism, noting that the city is experiencing active tourist movement which positively reflects on hotel occupancy and commercial activity, clearly indicating an increase in the popularity of Aqaba as a distinctive tourist destination.
Meanwhile, a number of tourists expressed their satisfaction with the organization and tourist services, confirming that Aqaba has become a preferred destination for holidays and relaxation, and that the improvement in the tourist product and the diversity of options caters to various tastes.
The visitors praised the variety of marine activities, as well as the collection of restaurants, cafes, and tourist markets that offer diverse options and reasonable prices, which enhances the tourist experience and encourages visitors to extend their stay in Aqaba.
