Khaberni - The Egyptian Foreign Minister said in a press conference on Saturday that Cairo is considering the invitation by the American President Donald Trump for his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to join what is termed the "Gaza Peace Council".
The council is set to oversee the transitional governance of the sector which has experienced a fragile ceasefire since last October.
The White House revealed on Friday some members of the council that will be chaired by Trump.
On Friday, Trump congratulated the formation of the Palestinian National Committee for the management of Gaza, considering it a vital step forward in implementing the second phase of his comprehensive plan to end the war in Gaza.
Trump's plan consists of 20 points to achieve peace, stability, reconstruction, and lasting prosperity in the region.
The "Gaza Peace Council" will play a crucial role in fulfilling all twenty points of Trump's plan, by providing strategic oversight, mobilizing international resources, and ensuring accountability as Gaza transitions from conflict to peace and development.
