Khaberni - Within the framework of Amman Arab University's vision and its mission to enhance ongoing communication with its graduates and under the directives of Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widian, president of the university, the College of Sharia, in collaboration with the Dean of Student Affairs, organized an interactive meeting with a number of its graduates. The meeting was attended by Dr. Kifah Al-Souri, Dean of the College of Sharia, Dr. Mohammad Bin Tarif, Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Alaa Al-Bourini, Head of the Sharia and Islamic Studies Department, alongside faculty members of the college, and Mr. Wael Al-Hourani, Director of the Career Guidance Office and Graduate Follow-up. The event aimed to enhance ties between the university and its graduates and discuss ways to benefit from their experiences in supporting the educational process and the academic community, in addition to exploring cooperation possibilities with the private sector to face labor market challenges.
Dr. Al-Souri began by speaking about the most significant academic developments that the College of Sharia has witnessed at Amman Arab University, emphasizing the important role of graduates in transferring their experiences to current students. She focused on several topics, including the educational outcomes of the college, the importance of ongoing communication with graduates, the need to participate in activities and engage with them, as well as listening to student proposals and recommendations. Dr. Al-Bourini discussed the necessity for graduate students to participate in training courses organized by the Dean of Student Affairs to utilize their practical experiences and transfer these to the students who are currently enrolled.
Dr. Bin Tarif commended the faculty members for organizing this meeting and urged graduates to take advantage of the professional development programs offered by the university to enhance their competitiveness in the job market, focusing on developing core skills, particularly digital and linguistic skills among students.
The meeting also featured listening to the practical experiences and suggestions of the graduate students, which included engaging in practical training programs, obtaining the license to practice Sharia law, professional diplomas in family counseling and mediation, alongside developing Quran recitation and Tajweed skills. Furthermore, the graduates emphasized the importance of introducing diverse academic programs at the College of Sharia, particularly a master's program in Fiqh and its principles, and specialized courses in Sharia sciences to enhance the scientific proficiency of students, in addition to equipping the university library with essential Sharia books and references that support scientific research and education.
