In a scene of extreme human cruelty, the village of Meet Assam in the Banha district of Qalyubia governorate woke up to a painful tragedy after five siblings died due to a gas leak inside their family home, taking them away in their sleep without warning.
The victims were Ibrahim, Raqia, Janna, Maryam, and Khadija, who all passed away due to suffocation following a water heater explosion and gas leak inside the dwelling, resulting in their immediate death, amidst profound shock among the locals.
The painful story of the family intensified the impact of the tragedy. The mother, a doctor, dedicated her life to serving patients and working for her children's future, while the father continued years of hard work and struggle, hoping to secure a better life for their children, before those dreams turned into a heartbreaking tragedy.
The neighbors expressed their deep sorrow and extreme shock, affirming that the family was a model of morality and diligence, and that what happened reminds everyone of life's fragility, and that tragedies of fate might knock on doors at any moment without readiness.
And Benha University Hospitals administration, led by Dr. Mohamed El-Esheb, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Benha and Chairman of the Hospitals Board, and Dr. Amr Al-Dakhakhni, the Executive Director, and all the staff, mourned the children of Dr. Ebtisam Nasr, professor of general surgery at the Faculty of Medicine, Benha University, who died in this tragic accident.
The administration expressed its deepest condolences and sincere sympathy to the bereaved family, praying to God to envelop the children in His vast mercy and admit them into His spacious gardens, and to grant the family patience and solace, confirming its full solidarity with them in this grievous loss.
The security forces in Qalyubia governorate received a notification from the emergency room regarding the incident, and immediately, police forces and ambulances moved to the scene, while the investigative authorities continue to examine the circumstances of the incident to determine its final causes.
