Khaberni - Health authorities in Guangdong province in southern China announced today, Saturday, that a total of 103 students at a high school in Foshan city have been infected with the "Norovirus," indicating that there have been no reported serious or fatal cases.
The "Norovirus" causes symptoms such as vomiting and diarrhea and is known to be highly contagious and transmissible through contaminated surfaces, food, or direct contact. Recently, students at Xinghai Middle School were infected with symptoms initially confirmed to be due to a "Norovirus" infection.
The authorities explained that all 103 students are in stable condition.
The school campus has been disinfected, and the students are under medical observation and attendance checks.
An epidemiological survey is also being conducted.
