Khaberni - The Syrian army has called on civilians not to enter the city of Deir Hafer, in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, amid calm in the city prior to the withdrawal of the Syrian Democratic Forces "SDF" this Saturday morning.
The Operations Authority of the Syrian Arab Army stated in a release "We urge our civilian people not to enter the (previously specified) operations area in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, until the Syrian Arab Army finishes securing it and clearing mines and war remnants from it, in order to preserve your safety."
The Operations Authority of the Syrian Arab Army confirmed "no targeting of the SDF organization during its withdrawal."
Local sources in the Deir Hafer area told (DPA) "The city is calm with the timing of the withdrawal of SDF forces from the city towards the city of Raqqa, and no movement of forces was observed."
The Media and Communication Administration of the Syrian Ministry of Defense stated "The withdrawal of SDF forces from west of the Euphrates will commence starting this Saturday morning, and thereafter, the Syrian Arab Army forces will begin to enter the area."
Tens of thousands of civilians from the cities of Deir Hafer and Maskanah have displaced towards areas under Syrian army control and towards Raqqa province after the Syrian army opened a corridor in the village of Humaymah west of Deir Hafer. However, SDF forces prevented the locals from heading to the crossing, which forced them to exit through rural dirt roads and waterways.
The Syrian army started concentrated bombardment operations in the city of Deir Hafer in the eastern countryside of Aleppo at SDF positions last Friday evening.
The Operations Authority of the Syrian Arab Army stated in a release "Our response has begun on the positions of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party militias and remnants of the defunct regime allied with the SDF organization in the city of Deir Hafer which were announced a short while ago."
The Operations Authority confirmed that "these sites are considered military bases for the SDF organization and its allies, launched from them were Iranian suicide drones towards our people in Aleppo city, and they have a major role in bombarding the eastern countryside of Aleppo and preventing the locals from leaving the area."
