Withdrawal of Popular Dietary Supplements from America Due to Salmonella

Khaberni - The U.S. health authorities withdrew popular dietary supplements from the market after dozens were infected with the Salmonella bacteria, in an urgent move to protect consumers.
Currently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are investigating a Salmonella outbreak linked to the "Super Greens" supplement powder by Live it Up.

In response, the New York-based company "Superfoods, Inc." voluntarily recalled its products, including the original and wild berry flavors, following health authorities' recommendations to withdraw these products from the market.
Data collected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed that 45 people were infected with Salmonella between August 22 and December 30, 2025, with 20 individuals reporting having consumed these supplements, while 12 cases required hospitalization with no fatalities recorded.
The infected individuals lived in 21 U.S. states, including: Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Utah, Washington, and Wisconsin.

The health authorities warned of the potential for other products to be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria and advised consumers who purchased the contaminated powders not to consume them, and to dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase. They also recommended washing and sanitizing utensils and surfaces that might have come into contact with these powders to reduce the risk of spreading the bacteria.

Salmonella is typically found in foods contaminated with animal feces, and is more commonly found in poultry, red meat, dairy products, eggs, fish, fruits, and vegetables. Symptoms of infection usually appear within six hours to six days and include bloody diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps.

While most people recover within four to seven days, the bacteria can sometimes spread to the bloodstream and other organs, causing serious complications for vulnerable groups (children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems).
