Khaberni - Dr. Andrei Kondrakhin reports that constant cold hands and feet may be a natural condition for some people, but it can also represent symptoms of serious illnesses.
The doctor says in an interview with RT channel that women experience cold hands and feet because their heat loss exceeds production, while men have larger muscle mass.
He indicates that this phenomenon is also natural in newborns, due to poor regulation of their body temperature, and in the elderly because of slow metabolism and circulatory issues.
However, cold extremities may also indicate several diseases, including anemia, chronic heart failure, lung diseases, and could be a result of poisoning or exposure to severe cold.
The doctor advises, in order to stay warm, to follow practical methods, such as wearing warm woolen clothes, shoes and socks that do not constrict the feet, and consuming hot beverages like herbal tea, broth, and fruit juices.
He says: "Drinking hot tea and broth helps improve the condition, as food has a dynamic effect, distributing the heat we receive throughout the body."
The doctor emphasizes the importance of identifying the cause, because if it is a disease, it should be treated first.
