Pomelo has Antiinflammatory Properties

Khaberni - A study conducted by Chinese scientists has shown that juice from whole pomelo fruits, including the pulp and peel, reduces inflammation in the body and facilitates the expulsion of mucus from the respiratory tract.
The analyses conducted during the study revealed that whole pomelo fruit juice is rich in flavonoids known for their antioxidant properties such as hesperidin, naringin, baicalin, and apigenin, and that the concentration of these substances is 950 mg per 100 ml of this juice.

In laboratory experiments conducted on cells, pomelo juice inhibited the production of anti-inflammatory molecules (nitric oxide, interleukin-6, and tumor necrosis factor alpha TNF-α) in immune cells, mimicking a reduction in the inflammatory response.
In tests conducted on mice, scientists noted that the juice increased immune secretions in the trachea and reduced lung tissue damage by decreasing the infiltration of inflammatory cells.

The researchers noted that the data obtained appeared in the preclinical study phase, and although it is still early, the results suggest the possibility of using pomelo juice as a functional beverage to support respiratory health, boost immunity, and combat inflammation.
