Khaberni - The number of visitors to Mount Nebo during (January – November) of last year reached 234,325; an increase of 25.6% compared to the same period in 2024 which had 186,606 visitors, according to a preliminary official statistic seen by "Al-Mamlaka".
According to the statistics, the total number of foreign visitors was 194,346 and Jordanians 39,979, totaling 234,325 visitors, compared to 186,606 visitors during the first eleven months of 2024, of whom 153,370 were foreigners and 33,236 Jordanians.
The statistics show that the majority of visitors are foreigners.
Madaba Governorate is rich with archaeological and historical sites, among them is the oldest site where religious rituals were held, the site of Mureijat, the oldest fortified city, Khirbet Iskander in Al-Wala area of Deiban district dating back to the Bronze Age, the oldest inscription, the stele inscription of Mesha in Deiban, the mosaic floors, which were artistically and masterfully crafted by the artists of Madaba through the ages, and the tallest tower in Madaba located at the archaeological site of Umm ar-Rasas.
