Khaberni - Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen meets a delegation from the US Congress in Copenhagen on Friday and Saturday, as her office confirmed on Thursday.
A spokesperson for Frederiksen's office said that Greenland's Prime Minister Jens Frederik Nielsen will also participate in the meeting.
The US Congress delegation, led by Democratic Senator Chris Coons, is visiting the Danish capital to meet business leaders, political officials, and members of the parliament.
The delegation includes Senators Chris Coons, Dick Durbin, Peter Welch, and Jeanne Shaheen from the Democratic Party, as well as Tom Tillis and Lisa Murkowski from the Republican Party.
The House of Representatives is represented by Democrats Steny Hoyer, Gregory Meeks, Madeleine Dean, Sara Jacobs, and Sarah McBride.
The meeting takes place as a European military mission has started in Greenland, a Danish region with self-governance which President Donald Trump wants to annex, following a meeting in Washington in which Denmark acknowledged a "substantial disagreement" with its historic ally.
Coons said in a statement on Monday that the delegation will discuss with their Danish hosts "enhancing security in the Arctic and strengthening trade relations".
Senator Tom Tillis said, "I believe it is essential that Congress show unity in supporting our allies and respecting the sovereignty of Denmark and Greenland."
The delegation will later proceed to the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
