Al-Aqsa Mosque was not just a place of transition during the Incident of Isra, but was intended for its own sake, chosen by God to be the starting point for the Ascension and the gathering of prophets, and the place of imamate for their seal, peace be upon him, thus becoming an integral part of Islamic creed, unaffected by changes in political boundaries or fluctuations in reality.
God Almighty said (Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from the Sacred Mosque to Al-Aqsa Mosque, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing) God has made Al-Aqsa Mosque associated with praise, included in blessing and mentioned until the Day of Resurrection, and this mention is sufficient to prove its sanctity and negate attempts to marginalize and disconnect it from the consciousness of the nation.
Had the purpose of the Isra been to breach time and space, the Ascension would have taken place directly from Mecca, but passing through Al-Aqsa Mosque indicates that places are considered doctrinally in the law, and that Jerusalem is not marginal in the message of Islam, but a link between the prophethoods. And a center for the unity of the messages.
In our contemporary reality, Al-Aqsa Mosque is subject to ongoing violations and attempts to obscure its identity, and these attempts collide with the fixed truth that Al-Aqsa Mosque is an Islamic endowment by divine decree and not by human decision.
The duty of the nation towards Al-Aqsa is each according to their capacity, with knowledge that keeps the issue in our minds, and education that raises generations who recognize Al-Aqsa, and media that exposes falsehoods and establishes truth, and prayers that never cease, for it is the weapon of the believer.
O Allah, strengthen its people and bind on their hearts and the hearts of those who station themselves there, and grant us a share in victory and relief, for You are capable of all things.
