Khaberni - The Commissioners Council in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority has decided to approve the granting and renewal of necessary certificates for economic activities for establishments not having regulatory approvals within the zone, for a period of one year, provided that the regulatory violations of the applications submitted during this period are rectified.
The authority confirmed that the decision comes within the framework of supporting the investment environment and regulating economic activity, in a way that ensures the continuity of economic establishments without imposing additional financial burdens or cancelling registration certificates, noting that this decision will be effective for one year and will expire on 31/12/2026.
The authority has set the following conditions for benefiting from the decision: submission of a request complete with documents according to the mechanisms and procedures approved by the authority,
commitment to rectify the regulatory status within a maximum period of one year from the date of granting or renewing the certificate under this decision, along with signing a judicial declaration detailing the regulatory violations issued by the Licensing Directorate, obtaining all necessary approvals, including civil defense approval and related authorities.
It also required that the activity be within a part of the licensed building that has obtained occupancy permission, and be compliant with the approved usage characteristic.
The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority confirmed its continued efforts to take measures that contribute to enhancing the business environment and regulating economic activities, achieving a balance between investment requirements and compliance with applicable laws.
