Khaberni - The Egyptian Public Prosecution is investigating a complaint filed by the lawyer of the artist Ahmed Mekki, accusing his former business manager of breach of trust and embezzlement of an amount of 66 million and 500 thousand Egyptian pounds.
Exploiting the power of attorney
The complaint filed by Mekki's defense to the Agouza Police Department indicated that the former manager refused to provide any financial or accounting statements explaining the expenditure of the amounts, despite repeated demands by the artist to deliver a detailed account statement for the period she managed his affairs.
Mekki's defense clarified that the business manager exploited the general power of attorney granted to her and withdrew the aforementioned amounts without providing any proofs or official documents about the expenditure, pointing to the submission of all official documents and bank statements to prove the withdrawal and handling of those funds before the investigative authorities.
All legal procedures have been taken to prove the incident and recover the embezzled funds to ensure the artist's rights.
No official report
On her part, Ahmed Mekki’s business manager denied receiving any official notification regarding this complaint, asking for clarification of the matter before making any statements.
Details of the dispute
The financial disputes between the artist and his business manager arose after Mekki assigned her to manage all the financial transactions of his artistic and advertising projects, and when she was asked to deliver the account statements, she refused, prompting the Egyptian artist to take legal measures to secure his financial rights.
