Khaberni - Under the patronage of the president of Petra University, Professor Dr. Rami Abdel Rahim, and in the presence of the president of the university club and the dean of student affairs, Professor Dr. Eyad Al-Malah, the university staff club launched the thirtieth charity campaign, as a part of the university's commitment to its social and humanitarian role.
The campaign witnessed the distribution of winter blankets to ten charitable associations, aiming to support dignified and needy families, and to alleviate their living burdens, especially during the winter season.
The president of the university club, Professor Dr. Eyad Al-Malah, emphasized the club's dedication to organizing these charitable initiatives annually, due to their positive impact on serving the local community, promoting social solidarity values, fostering a spirit of giving and volunteer work amongst the university staff, and entrenching the culture of donation and supporting the modest families.
During the event, the president of Petra University received a certificate of appreciation from the “For You We Strive for Goodness” Association, in recognition of the continuous efforts made by the university in serving the community.
On his part, the president of the Al Muqabaleen Association, Mr. Arafat Al-Dajah, gave a speech during the campaign in which he appreciated the humanitarian initiatives carried out by Petra University, affirming that the winter and summer campaigns embody the values of social solidarity, reflect the integration of knowledge with social responsibility, and reinforce the culture of giving.
Al-Dajah also praised the educational cooperation between the university and the local public schools, and the opening of its laboratories and facilities to serve the local community, in a model that reflects community partnership and national responsibility.
At the end of the campaign, the importance of continuing these initiatives that contribute to supporting less fortunate categories and enhancing the status of Petra University as a leading educational institution in community service was reaffirmed.
