Ibrahimovics sons following in their fathers footsteps the younger one at Milan and the older one moves to Ajax

Khaberni  - Maximilian Ibrahimovic, the eldest son of former Swedish international Zlatan Ibrahimovic, has moved to Ajax, the record holder of Dutch football league titles, on loan from Italian Milan, according to what the club announced on Wednesday.

Ajax said in a statement that Maximilian (19 years old), who plays as a striker, has moved on a six-month loan "until the end of the season. The deal includes an option for a permanent transfer."

Maximilian plays with the Milan reserve team, where his father played with the first team for two periods (2010 to 2012 and 2020 to 2023), since 2022.

The club's sports director, Maraijn Bouyker, said, "Initially, Maximilian will get most of the playing time with Ajax's under-23 team, and will regularly move between the under-23 team and the first team during the season, to get used to the higher level and pace of play at Ajax."

In turn, Maximilian, who is following in his father Zlatan's footsteps, a two-time Dutch league winner with Ajax in his first professional stint outside Sweden, stated, "I am an individual and an independent player, and I want to write my own story."

He added, "It's great that my father also played for Ajax. I am glad to have the opportunity here to continue my development (but) I am here to do my own things and am very excited about that."

Maximilian, whose younger brother Vincent also plays for Milan's reserve team, remarked, "Ibrahimovic is just a name. I am Maximilian. We are completely different."

This season, Ajax's first team is struggling, as they occupy the third spot in the league, 16 points behind the leader Eindhoven, and they also failed to secure more than three points in the Champions League after six rounds.
