Khaberni - Jordan's imports of mobile devices last year amounted to 162 million dinars with a total volume reaching 1.7 million mobile devices, according to Ahmed Alloush, the president of the Association of Mobile Device and Accessory Investors.

Alloush explained in a press statement that the volume of imports at the end of 2025 recorded a decline compared to 2024, which reached 176 million dinars and 1.855 million devices, where the import bill decreased by about 8%, and the number of devices imported also fell by approximately 8.4%.

He pointed out that 2024 had seen an improvement compared to 2023; the value of imports increased by 13.7%, from 154.6 million dinars in 2023 to 176 million dinars in 2024, and the number of devices imported increased by 7.5%, from 1.726 million devices to 1.855 million devices.

Returning to the general trend over the past years, Alloush indicated that the mobile device import market in Jordan has been experiencing a clear decline since 2020, which saw import values of 221.3 million dinars, dropping in 2021 to 205.3 million dinars, with a decline rate of 7.2%.

He added that the decrease continued in 2022, where imports fell to 175 million dinars, recording a decline of 14.7% compared to 2021, paralleled by a decline in the number of devices imported from two million devices to about 1.8 million devices.

Alloush confirmed that these figures reflect clear transformations in the mobile device market, in terms of purchasing power or consumption patterns, pointing out the importance of reading these indicators within a broader economic context that considers local and regional variables.
