Khaberni - Argentina officially announced the classification of the Lebanese, Egyptian, and Jordanian branches of the "Muslim Brotherhood" (banned in Russia as a terrorist organization) as terrorist entities.
A statement published on the "X" platform and signed by Argentine President Javier Mile stated: "The presidency of the republic announces that the government has classified the Lebanese, Egyptian, and Jordanian branches of the "Muslim Brotherhood" as terrorist organizations".
The statement mentioned that the decision was made after coordination between several ministries and government bodies and was based on reports documenting the illegal activities of these entities.
This announcement comes hours after a similar decision was made by the United States, where the administration of President Donald Trump, according to previously announced plans, included the same three branches in its official list of terrorist organizations. The U.S. Department of State and Treasury confirmed that these branches pose a threat to the interests and security of the United States.
The "Muslim Brotherhood" group was founded in Egypt in 1928, and it advocates for the establishment of a political and social system based on Islamic Sharia. The group has branches and activities in several countries of the Middle East and North Africa.
The group has been banned or classified as a terrorist or extremist organization in countries such as Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, while it legally participates in the political life in other countries such as Pakistan, Morocco, and Tunisia.
