Charged with fraud Laporta to appear in court after 48 hours

Khaberni - The trial of Joan Laporta, president of FC Barcelona, in the alleged fraud case dating back to 2016 is nearing, as the Inquiry Court No. 22 in Barcelona has set Friday, January 16, as the official date for hearing his testimony as the main accused.

Case details and associates

The Spanish newspaper "As" confirmed that the judicial summons did not stop at Laporta only, but also included his current deputy Rafael Yusty, and the former officials Xavier Sala Martin and Juan Oliver.

The case revolves around an "alleged takeover" of 91,500 euros from an investor, through the companies "Core Store" and "CSSB Limited" managed by the accused at that time.

"Phantom" projects and exploited reputation

According to what was reported by "As" in the context of its report, the complainant invested large amounts based on the "public reputation" of Joan Laporta and his colleagues, in projects that included the rise of the "Reus Deportiu" club and the establishment of a football academy in China mirroring "La Masia".

Despite investing more than 104,000 euros, the victim only recovered 12,500 euros, prompting her to resort to the judiciary after discovering other victims through the documentary "Laportagate".

The third case against Laporta

The newspaper "As" confirmed that this is the third lawsuit opened against Laporta related to the same companies, thereby complicating the legal situation faced by the president of the Catalan club, especially as the direct confrontation with the judge approaches.
