Haaretz Gaza Management Committee Refuses to Integrate IsraelBacked Militias

Khaberni - The newspaper "Haaretz" quoted a Palestinian security source saying that the Palestinian Technocrat Committee for the Management of Gaza has clarified to the parties a steadfast position in refusing to absorb militias supported by Israel into the security and police forces in the sector.

The White House envoy Steve Witkoff announced earlier on Wednesday, the launch of the second phase of President Donald Trump's 20-point plan to end the war in Gaza, which moves from a ceasefire phase to disarmament, forming a Palestinian technocratic administration, and starting reconstruction.

Witkoff said in an official statement, that the second phase stipulates the establishment of a transitional Palestinian technocratic administration in Gaza, named the "National Committee for the Management of Gaza," alongside initiating a full disarmament process.

On October 14, 2025, a comprehensive document ending the Gaza war was signed in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, two years after the annihilation by bombing by Israeli occupation forces.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and US President Donald Trump signed the document during the opening session of the "Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit" held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.

Trump had released on Monday, September 29, 2025, a 20-item plan to end the war in Gaza, which still requires the approval of the concerned parties, and specifically stipulates that he will chair the committee overseeing the transitional phase in the sector.

The plan includes an item that states that the Gaza Strip will be managed under a temporary transitional government by a non-political Palestinian technocratic committee, which will provide daily services to the residents. It consists of qualified Palestinians and international experts, under the supervision of a new transitional international body called the "Peace Council," chaired by Donald Trump, including other world leaders and figures, such as former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. This body will set the frameworks and secure the funding for Gaza's reconstruction until the Palestinian Authority completes its reform program and various proposals including Trump's 2020 peace plan and the Saudi-French proposal, enabling it to regain control of Gaza safely and effectively. This body will adopt the best international standards to establish modern and effective governance that serves the residents of Gaza and attracts investments.
