Khaberni - President Donald Trump informed his security team that he prefers to direct a swift and decisive military strike against the Iranian regime, without engaging in a prolonged war.
A U.S. official and two people familiar with the discussions, according to a report by "NBC News" U.S., indicated that Trump wants a "decisive operation" should it be resorted to, and that it should not lead to a long-term war lasting weeks or months.
However, according to the report, Trump's advisors have not yet been able to ensure a quick collapse of the regime following any American military strike.
Trump has urged Iranian protesters to continue, indicating that "help is coming", and hinted at a reduction in killings against protesters and having received "a good statement" from Iran, warning of monitoring the situation while not ruling out military intervention.
The Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, confirmed yesterday, Wednesday, that the demonstrations and internal disturbances in Iran had ended, and that the country is experiencing a "complete calm" and is "fully under control".
Araghchi said in an interview with "Fox News" U.S.: "I can say that things have been calm for four days, and there are no demonstrations or disturbances.. Now there is calm. The country is under full control. And let’s hope wisdom prevails" and warned that continued tensions would be "a disaster for everyone".
About the protests that erupted in late December last year, the minister noted that "the violent elements were not genuine protesters but terrorist cells fed by an Israeli conspiracy", adding: "We were fighting terrorists, not protesters and they were shooting people because they wanted to drag America into a war.. It was exactly an Israeli conspiracy."
