The US Embassy in Israel Urges Caution

Khaberni  - The US Embassy in Israel has issued advice to its staff and Americans in Israel amid concerns over potential US military strikes on Iran.

A statement issued by the embassy in the early hours of Thursday said, "In light of ongoing regional tensions, the US Embassy in Jerusalem reiterates its usual advice to its staff and all American citizens in Israel to exercise caution and take proper personal security measures."

The statement added: "We urge all travelers to review our latest security alerts, to reassess their travel plans in anticipation of any disruptions, and to make appropriate decisions for themselves and their families."

The embassy clarified: "Crises can occur unexpectedly while traveling or residing abroad, and a good plan helps you consider potential scenarios and determine the best course of action in advance."

It noted that "there has been no change in the status of the US mission, the number of its staff, or its operations, and consular services continue as usual."

In a related context, the US Embassy in Qatar said: "At this time, there is no change regarding the number of embassy staff, its operations, and consular services continue as usual."

The embassy advised its staff "to exercise further caution and limit unnecessary travel to Al Udeid Air Base."

European countries have taken measures to close embassies or withdraw diplomats from Iran, following the protests that have been occurring in the country since late last year.

President Donald Trump had repeatedly threatened to strike Iran "if protesters are killed," but he announced on Wednesday that he had received information regarding "a cessation of killing" in the demonstrations sweeping several Iranian cities.
