Lufthansa Germany suspends its flights to and from Israel

Khaberni - The German airline Lufthansa has suspended all its flights to and from Israel, and has informed its employees to prepare to leave the country, in light of increasing American threats against Iran.

The Israeli newspaper Maariv and the Israeli Channel 12 reported that the German airline had told its employees to prepare to leave Israel and to cancel flights starting from tomorrow, Thursday.

This move comes amid growing assessments that a U.S. military strike against the Iranian regime is imminent, at a time when Israeli security forces estimate that Israel will be within the range of a possible Iranian response.

Global airlines had suspended their flights to and from Israel during the twelve-day war between Israel and Iran in June 2025.

Highest Readiness

In this context, Maariv reported that local authorities in Dimona have decided to open all public shelters in the city, in anticipation of a possible widespread escalation that could involve Israel within the scope of the Iranian response.

The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation reported that the municipality of Beersheba has decided to open public shelters in the city.

In Tel Aviv, the municipality denied reports about the opening of shelters, but clarified that facilities will be opened remotely when necessary according to directives from the Home Front Command.

Channel 12 mentioned that the Israeli Ministry of Health has issued urgent instructions to hospitals to review protocols for transitioning to a state of highest emergency.

The deputy director-general of the ministry sent a message to hospital directors urging them to immediately prepare to suspend non-urgent operations and outpatient clinics, and to move vital activities to fortified underground locations to ensure continuity of care in case the country faces attacks.
